the sampa story
The people who work at Sampa are just like you -- we have families and close friends
living across the country and around the world. We, too, have been frustrated that
there has not been an easy-to-use, safe and secure way to share family milestones
on the Internet. Our families were having new babies, kids were growing up fast,
walking and starting school. We changed jobs, took fantastic vacations and were
planning reunions. We wanted a private place on the web to share all of these great
moments in a compelling way. And we needed it to be easy enough for anyone to use
and update everyone automatically when new events were posted.
From this frustration, Paul and Marcelo saw an opportunity. The "big, noisy, intrusive,
and hard-to-use" social networks like MySpace and Facebook were not the answer.
The opportunity was apparent: create a place that automatically connects your family,
extended family and circle of close friends -- all in the same place, with simplicity
and safety. Provide easy-to-use, built-in templates for the important family events
and milestones in your life -- the "new baby" in the family, the "kids' latest achievement"
and "family events" like reunions and vacations. And make the site look great with
no technical knowledge required by users.
Paul and Marcelo spent a year interacting with customers and laying the foundation for a
web service that would address this fundamental problem. They assembled a small, world-class
development team that helped them identify and
implement the most important features for people
wanting to share their life milestones safely on the web. After testing it with thousands
of users and tuning the user experience for ease of use and safety, the Sampa you
see today was born.
We invite you to try out Sampa -- it's free. And please let us know how we can make
your Sampa experience even better.
